About the Author

Becky Lomax was three years old when her parents first took her to stay with friends who worked as rangers at Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park. During college, Becky worked two summers in the historic Glacier Park Lodge, an easy hop to Two Medicine. She spent her days off hiking, backpacking, and climbing throughout the park.After teaching high school writing and speech outside Seattle, she and her husband moved to Whitefish for quick access to Glacier. She worked in the park for a decade as a hiking and backpacking guide, leading many first-time visitors to Gunsight Pass, Fifty Mountain, and Iceberg Lake. She also served on staff at Granite Park Chalet, spotting wolverines and bagging nearby peaks in her off time.Today, Becky maintains her strong link with Glacier by using her full-time writing career as an excuse to keep hiking in the park. In magazine stories, she lauds the park's trails, historic lodges, scenic drives, wildlife, and wildflowers. She tags along with biologists in the field to radio-collar bighorn sheep and grizzly bears. The Moon Handbooks guide for Glacier National Parks was one of just a few books I could find when searching for help planning a recent trip there. While there may not be many options, it turns out that none were needed because everything I needed was right here. The book begins by briefly introducing the geographic areas of the park, and then offers a few sample itineraries. Once the preliminaries are out of the way, the author proceeds to get down to the real detail of exploring each geographic region in detail. A guide to exploring the sights, recreation options, accommodations, and food are included for each region. The book closes with some more basic information like the best ways to get to Glacier and some history of the area.I found the information in the guide to be helpful, accurate, and fairly complete. It's description of the two hotels I stayed in were spot on for both the positives and negatives. We didn't spend a lot of time in restaurants on the trip but from what I saw this part was also accurate. About the only flaw with the book is that it is printed and obviously can't be constantly updated. When I arrived at Glacier, I learned that a large section of Going-to-the-sun road was closed for the next several weeks and this included the Logan Pass area. I say this not to blame the guide but to encourage people to check with the park rangers in advance to see if there are any road closures that might affect your desire to go.This book is a definite keeper for those planning a trip to Glacier National Park. It also contains information on Waterton for those interested in making the drive up to the Canadian side (and I would encourage readers to do it if at all possible). It's writing is concise and clear, and the information is complete and accurate.

The content is good for figuring out what you want to do while visiting the park. I only had 2 issues with it:1) being a digital book, I found it hard to "flip" through as I normally would a travel guide. I was able to mitigate some of that with bookmarks, highlighting and note-taking, but that doesn't completely compensate for the lack of physical pages. This also makes it simultaneously easier to CARRY with you but harder to USE when "out there" trying to re-plan a day that just got uprooted.2) The description of the Grinnell Glacier trail was woefully inadequate. It failed to mention the likelihood (which is VERY high) that you won't be able to complete the journey (except for maybe 2 weeks out of the year) due to snow covering the trail that is already treacherous in places.

I got this guide on Kindle and it is horrible. There is no index, so you can't look up specific trails or hikes that you really want to go on. The Table of Contents is very high-level, so you can go to a general area of the book, but after that you have to flip page after page to get to what you want to read - either for hikes or lodging or food. It was really frustrating. Not recommended at all.The guidebook itself is very accurate on the hikes and trails. There is so much breathtaking scenery in this park!

I have another moon guide for Washington/Oregon camping and it's my bible. After deciding on a trip to Glacier National Park, I knew I couldn't go wrong with this guide book. It is just as good, and it will be my bible for Glacier. It's broken up by section of the park and gives details on everything you might want from things to do and see, hikes, tours, shuttles, places to eat and where to stay, and so much more. I'd been having a hard time finding campgrounds in the area, but the first time I picked up the book after it arrived I found where we wanted to stay... highly recommended!

We kept this guide in our car and referenced it often. We found the restaurant reviews to be helpful in deciding where to eat and generally accurate in describing what to expect. We found that when the guide described the menu rather than the hours of the restaurant, then this was the place to choose.Due to crowds, we found that we had to occasionally change our plans for the day. If one location was too crowded to park, we just pulled out the guide to find out what else was nearby. The descriptions of the trails was very helpful especially since we aren't in good shape and needed to be sure that we didn't choose a trail that was too difficult or too long.

This book was the only book we could find that was a comprehensive travel guide to Glacier National Park. It was very user friendly and had the sections of the park easily organized. The restaurants and attractions that were given a "moon" or a must see rating, were spot on. We found the information succinct and helpful and it helped us plan both our days and nights. Almost everything we needed to know was in this book. However, it did lack information on some of the smaller hikes which we were able to find in the park paper, and it had almost no information or pictures of the flora and fauna in the area, which made it frustrating when we saw something and didn't have a way to know what it was. The park papers didn't have that either! This book was invaluable to a first time traveller to the area and I highly recommend it.

This book saved me so much time and money. The author really knows all about Glacier and it's surrounding area. She directed to me to wonderful accommodations and activities I normally wouldn't have checked out. The author even pointed out a close airport that saved me 1 whole day of travel time.The information is very well organized by area, organized by most popular, and even by 'see it in 1 day'. If there is one draw back, there is very little about Browning and the Blackfeet Nation. But for all else, you can't go wrong with this book-highly recommended.

This box set includes 3 really good books: Borderland Bride, Borderland Beauty, and Borderland Betrayal. The three stories take place at Thornewall Castle, but each story is different and unique, and each can be read as a standalone. All three are well written, providing strong emotions and love that make them believable and heartfelt.The book I liked best was Borderland Bride because it truly drew me in with the beautiful story line and the personalities of the main characters, Jake and Isabel. This is definitely a box set worth reading, with those different story lines providing ample variety for the reader. You can’t go wrong with this one.

I read each of these books as they came out and enjoyed them all. All take place at Thornewall Castle in the 1300's. Each book has it's own sweet couple with their own story to tell. They can be read as a stand alone but it's nice to have them all in one set. The author does a great job building her stories and vividly painting her scenes. She brings drama,humor and love , moves the stories at a steady pace and I loved reading them. Highly recommend.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this set. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

The collection is about two brothers Jake and Dominic and Dominic captain of the guards James. The book shows how the love of their life comes into their lives. There is lost land, taken children, kidnapping along with wonderful characters from England, Scotland, and Spain, great villains and with a drop of paranormal these books are a glorious mix. In case I was not clear these books are full to the brim with action and drama. I recommend this collection was very entertaining!

This is the 1st books I’ve read written by Samantha Holt; she has done a great job at writing a fantastic a great collection of books. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.The story lines caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.I loved the characters.I received a free copy of this box set via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

Three well written books that held my interest throughout. The stories are Borderland Bride which is Lady Isabel and Jake's story. Borderland Beauty is Lucy Montgomery and Lord Dominic of Thornewall's story. The last one Is Borderland Betrayal which is Captain James and Ellise's story. I would recommend this set.

Much much better than the last book that I read of Samantha...This was a nice collection of books and I felt that she redeemed herself.. I was entertained from the beginning.I received a free copy of this box set via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

This is an interesting and enjoyable set of stories that have strong, exciting and enjoyable characters. Each story will keep you entertained from the beginning, and get better as it goes. It should be added to your TBR list.

I enjoyed all three of these stories! They are fairly quick reads and entertaining. I love the characters and the stories are well written. They are interesting and sweet stories with some drama and romance.
